How to look after your exercise bike and precautions needed when owning Nordic Track and Proform equipment.

Keep your bike indoors, away from moisture and dust. Do not put in a garage or covered patio, or near water. Your machine is intended for home use only and must not be used in any commercial, rental, or institutional setting. This will invalidate your warranty.

The exercise is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the bike by someone responsible for their safety.

Place the bike on a level surface, making sure that there is at least 2 ft. (0.6 m) of clearance around the cycle

To protect the floor or carpet, place a suitable mat under the machine and keep the out of direct sunlight, to avoid damage to the console.

Keep children under age 16 and pets away from the bike at all times for their own safety.

Keep to the maximum user weight as per the manufacturers guidence. This will be shown on all product listings on our website.

Wear appropriate clothes while exercising, do not wear loose clothes that could become caught on the bike. Athletic support clothes are recommended and always wear athletic shoes. Never use with bare feet, wearing only stockings, or in sandals.

Inspect and properly tighten all parts regularly. Replace any worn parts immediately with only manufacturers parts.

Always plug the power adapter into the exercise bike before you plug it into an outlet. If a replacement power adapter is needed, use only a manufacturer supplied power adapter.

Always unplug the power cord when the bike is not in use, before cleaning and before performing any maintenance and adjustment procedures described in the user manual. If you do not do this, the electrical components of the machine may wear prematurely.

If the bike has been exposed to cold temperatures, allow it to warm to room temperature before you turn on the power. If you do not do this, you may damage the console displays or other electrical components.

Be careful when mounting and dismounting the bike and always keep your back straight; do not arch your back.

Be aware that some bikes do not have a freewheel; the pedals will continue to move until the flywheel stops. Reduce your pedalling speed in a controlled way.

To stop the flywheel quickly, press the brake knob downward on indoor cycles. Also, when the these bikes are not in use, press the brake knob downward and tighten it firmly.

During some workouts, you may be prompted to maintain a target speed. As you exercise, keep your pedalling speed near the target speed. However, the target speed is intended only to provide motivation. Your actual pedalling speed may be slower than the target speed. Make sure to pedal at a speed that is comfortable for you.

The calorie goal feedback shown is an estimate only. The actual number of calories that you burn will depend on various factors, such as your weight. In addition, if you manually change the resistance level or incline level during the workout, the number of calories you burn will be affected.

Make sure that all the seat and upright adjustment knobs are engaged in one of the adjustment holes in the post and tightened sufficiently.

For the best results, regularly check for firmware updates. To avoid damaging the console, do not turn off or unplug the bike while the firmware is being updated. Occasionally, a firmware update may cause the console to function slightly differently however, these are always designed to improve your exercise experience.

Regularly clean the bike by using with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap. Do not spray liquids directly onto the machine and keep liquids away from the console. Thoroughly dry with a soft towel.

You must have your own wireless network and an 802.11b/g/n router with SSID broadcast enabled (hidden networks are not supported). The console supports unsecured and secured (WEP, WPA™, and WPA2™) encryption. A broadband connection is recommended; performance depends on connection speed. iFit Live is not compatible with Virgin Media except through Hub 3 Routers

A wearable rate monitor will enable you to continuously monitor your heart rate while you exercise, helping you to reach your personal fitness goals. Where stated in the product listing if a BlueTooth strap is compatible, the console will be compatible with all Bluetooth Smart heart rate monitors.

Occasionally, the console may not boot up properly, or if the console freezes and does not respond, reset the console to the factory default settings as shown in the user manual. Doing this will erase all the custom settings you have made to the console.

Some bikes have an incline function, if the incline of the bike does not change correctly you will need to calibrate the incline system. Instructions on how to do this are in the user manual.

Follow regular maintenance of the treadmill. There will be a ‘Maintenance and Troubleshooting’ section towards the back of the manufacturers user manual.
